An Eagle Hill porch with a very good reason to stay for sunset

There are porches where you leave your boots, and porches where you start making plans to spend the entire evening. The one in our Eagle Hill film is firmly in the second camp. It stretches across the home, with room for a conversation, a barbecue and a very unhurried end to the day.

The property was introduced in our August campaign by Real Estate Partners agent Michael Gloria: a custom home built in 2025, on two acres near Sundre and Olds. Its mountain outlook is the obvious attraction. But the more interesting part is how the home gives you somewhere to enjoy it, instead of treating the view as a photograph to admire once.

Moving to an acreage does not have to mean exchanging a comfortable house for a long list of projects. This home was presented with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and an oversized attached double garage. In the kitchen, custom cabinetry, quartz counters and a dual-fuel stove give the rural setting a decidedly finished interior.

That combination will speak to a particular buyer: someone ready for more space around the house, but not especially interested in starting a renovation the moment the moving boxes arrive. A new build still deserves a careful inspection and document review. It simply offers a different starting point from an older country home with several generations of decisions behind it.

The luxury is in what you do with the afternoon

Picture bringing dinner outside without leaving the shelter of the roof. Or taking your coffee out before anyone else is awake. These are small things, but they are often the things people have in mind when they say they want to get out of the city.

Two acres also make the space around the house part of the purchase. There is more room to enjoy, and more ground to look after. The film gives a sense of the home and its outdoor setting; a visit is where a buyer can work out whether that amount of land is exciting, manageable, or both.

That is useful context for a tour of a custom-built home: the finishes and the everyday spaces deserve attention alongside the headline view. Eagle Hill is not an in-city neighbourhood with a larger garden. The appeal comes with a different routine, and the right buyer will want to test that routine before choosing it.
